Ingredients

Method

Step 1

Wash the rajma and soak it in water overnight. Wash it again and cook it in a pressure cooker with 2 cups of water, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and turmeric. Remove the rajma from the heat when it is soft and mushy, and set it aside.

Step 2

Keep the onions finely chopped and set away, as well as the tomatoes, which should be grated and set aside. Make a ginger, garlic, and green chilli paste. Add mustard oil to a deep-bottomed skillet and heat it up before adding green cardamom, black cardamom, cinnamon, clove, and peppercorn. When they are aromatic, add the onions and sauté until they are golden brown. Cook for 4-5 minutes on high after adding the tomatoes. Combine the ginger-garlic-chilli paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, and black pepper powder in a mixing bowl. Cook until the spices become aromatic and the oil begins to leave the edges of the pan. Now add one cup of water and the rajma. Cook for 10 minutes, covered, with a well-mixed sauce. After that, add the Rani Refined Oil. Garnish with coriander leaves if desired. Your rajma is done.

Step 3

Wash 1 cup of rice under running water to prepare steamed rice without using a pressure cooker. Then, place them in a big, deep-bottomed pan with 4-5 cups of water. You may also season it with salt to taste. Strain the water when the rice has softened and doubled in size. Place the rice on a platter and set aside for 2-3 minutes to cool. When the rice is finished, serve it hot with the prepared Rajma.
